Mr. Bill Frain reports
LIBERTY DEFENSE RECEIVES CONTRACT MODIFICATION EXERCISING AN OPTION FROM TSA FOR COMPLETION OF HD-AIT DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) exercised an option under a previously awarded contract for the delivery of design improvements, completion of third party certification testing for Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd.'s HD-AIT wideband upgrade kit for federal communication commission and safety compliance, as well as documentation to support the high-definition advanced imaging technology (HD-AIT) upgrade kit.
The HD-AIT people screening technology platform for threat detection utilizes a wider frequency bandwidth compared with legacy systems, which enhances resolution and signal detail, and supports third party development of machine learning automated threat recognition (ATR) algorithms intended to achieve improved threat detection with a lower false alarm rate, resulting in a better passenger experience. The HD-AIT upgrade kit delivered to the Transportation Safety Lab under this program is designed to enhance the capabilities of an existing AIT unit using Open Architecture, allowing the use of third party hardware and software components. Per the TSA, Open Architecture is a technology-design approach for software and hardware that uses widely accepted standards to ensure interoperability across tools and platforms regardless of the technology designer, manufacturer or supplier.
"As previously announced, Liberty delivered a fully functional upgrade kit to the transportation security lab in August, 2025, marking the start of the testing process," said Liberty chief executive officer Bill Frain. "This additional funding enables us to pursue the necessary certifications for future field deployment. We're encouraged by TSA's continued support of this program, which is aimed at advancing the next generation of passenger screening and enhancing the overall travel experience."
Liberty Defense continues to execute on a robust pipeline of government and commercial opportunities aimed at transforming security infrastructure through advanced imaging and AI technologies.
