Mr.
Bill Frain reports
JACKSON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER SELECTS LIBERTY DEFENSE'S HEXWAVE FOR CHECKPOINT SECURITY SCREENING
Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd.'s Hexwave system has been selected by the Jackson County Detention Center in Missouri to screen staff and visitors who enter the facility. The order was received with Liberty Defense's distribution partner, Linev Systems U.S., which received the contract from the county.
The selection of Liberty Defense's Hexwave technology reaffirms Jackson County's commitment to securing their facilities with a modern-day security approach, ensuring minimized entry wait times and enabling the most secure and safe access for everyone entering the facilities.
The Jackson County Detention Center houses adult inmates awaiting trial or serving sentences for state charges, and, as of September, 2025, the daily average inmate population was around 935, with the current count reaching 1,063. The rising inmate population is projected to exceed the detention centre's capacity, and, therefore, a new county jail is being built and is expected to be completed this fall.
Hexwave uses millimetre-wave, advanced 3-D imaging and AI (artificial intelligence) to detect concealed metallic and non-metallic threats and other prohibited items. The system allows for rapid, automated screening using a high-throughput, contactless walkthrough portal to detect liquid, powder and plastic explosives, 3-D-printed ghost guns and other contraband that enhanced metal detectors on the market do not detect.
