Liberty Defense's Hexwave to undergo evaluation in N.H.

2023-07-11 10:21 ET - News Release

Mr. Bill Frain reports

LIBERTY DEFENSE'S HEXWAVE TO BE EVALUATED BY A NEW HAMPSHIRE-BASED REGIONAL AIRPORT FOR USE IN AIRPORT AVIATION WORKER SCREENING

A New Hampshire-based regional airport will undertake a customer evaluation of Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd.'s Hexwave system for possible use in aviation worker screening at its airport facilities.

"With the recent release of the TSA mandate to implement screening for aviation workers, airports will need technologies that provide a broad range of threat detection that can meet the current screening requirements and those mandated for the future," said Ted Kitchens, director of aviation, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. "We continue to focus on enhancing safety and security for our aviation workers and guests and this pilot program will trial a new security technology aimed at meeting that goal."

Hexwave uses millimetre-wave, advanced 3-D imaging and artificial intelligence to detect concealed metallic and non-metallic weapons such as liquid, plastic and powder explosives, 3-D printed guns, and other prohibited items -- without having to divest common items like cellphones or keys.

"As airports continue to look at improving screening protocols, the Hexwave technology offers a flexible solution that can be quickly deployed and moved to multiple areas inside and outside of facilities," said Bill Frain, chief executive officer of Liberty Defense. "We are thrilled that the New Hampshire-based regional airport will be working with us to incorporate the Hexwave to accommodate their aviation worker screening process."
