ROCKLAND RESOURCES ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT
Rockland Resources Ltd. has made an addition to its board of directors.
Rockland is excited to announce the addition of William Rascan to the board of directors; Mr. Rascan will also take on the formal role of president of the company. As president, Mr. Rascan will take a hands-on role with the company, assisting the chief executive officer in the day-to-day activities as the company looks to further its Cole gold mine project in Ontario's Red Lake mining district as well as the Utah beryllium project.
Mr. Rascan brings more than 30 years of experience in the investment brokerage/capital market industry, currently as president and chief executive officer of Nova Mentis Life Science Corp. (formerly Liberty Leaf Holdings) and, prior to that, as chief executive officer of Weststar Resources. As chief executive officer of Nova Mentis, some of the recent corporate achievements he oversaw were as follows: first biotech company in the world to obtain orphan drug designation in both the European Union and United States for the use of psilocybin in the treatment of fragile X syndrome and the granting of (first of its kind in Canada) a Health Canada phase 2a clinical trial investigating the effects of psilocybin on the cognitive and behavioural symptoms associated with fragile X. During his tenure at Liberty Leaf, Mr. Rascan oversaw all aspects of the business, which included a fundamental change of business into the cannabis sector, successfully shepherding its Health Canada cultivation and processing licence and growing the company to greater than $100-million market capitalization.
Chief executive officer Mike England stated: "We are very happy to have Mr. Rascan join us as we get set to focus our efforts on the Cole gold Mines project in Red Lake, Ont. Will's energy and knowledge of the markets will be a great asset for Rockland shareholders."
At this time, the company also wishes to announce the resignation of Lindsay Bottomer from the Board. Mr. Bottomer will stay on with the company in an advisory role capacity. The board would like to thank Mr. Bottomer for his contributions to the company over the past years.
Rockland further announces it has set 600,000 options to two directors of the company at a price of five cents for a period of three years, in accordance with the company's stock option plan.
