Rockhaven Reports Numerous High-Grade Gold and Silver Drill Intersections at the Western BRX Zone, Klaza Project, Yukon

Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) - Rockhaven Resources Ltd. (TSX-V:RK) (“Rockhaven”) is pleased to announce results from the BRX Zone at its 100% owned and road-accessible Klaza property, located in the Dawson Range Gold Belt of southern Yukon.  The recently completed 2015 exploration program focused on expanding the current mineral resource and providing geotechnical and environmental data to advance project engineering.

The results from the fourteen diamond drill holes described in this release further delineate areas of high-grade mineralization within and below current resource.  These results will be incorporated into an updated resource estimate scheduled for completion later this year.  Highlights from the drill holes include:

  • 14.88 g/t gold and 162 g/t silver over 2.00 m - Hole 271

  • 18.70 g/t gold and 489 g/t silver over 1.05 m - Hole 264

  • 9.97 g/t gold and 471 g/t silver over 1.26 m - Hole 274

  • 15.36 g/t gold and 482 g/t silver over 0.96 m - Hole 256

  • 5.89 g/t gold and 75.6 g/t silver over 4.43 m - Hole 291

“The Western BRX Zone continues to deliver high-grade gold, silver and base metal assays,” stated Matt Turner, CEO of Rockhaven.  “With the receipt of these final assays, Rockhaven will now commence an updated resource estimate that will be announced in the next few months.”

The following table lists the highlight intervals and other significant intercepts from the announced holes.

+ Represents the sample length.  True widths are estimated to be approximately 80-90% of the interval.

BRXb represents a secondary vein located 20 to 70 m into the hanging wall of the Western BRX Zone.  It is oriented slightly oblique to the main veins and may represent a later-stage mineralizing event.

BRX HW represents unnamed subsidiary structures that are developed in the hanging wall of the BRX Zone.

Western BRX Zone

The Western BRX Zone currently hosts an inferred mineral resource estimated at 1,380,000 tonnes containing 350,943 oz gold, 4,763,685 oz silver, 27,077,143 lbs lead and 32,553,419 lbs zinc at an average grade of 7.91 g/t gold, 107.37 g/t silver, 0.89% lead and 1.07% zinc using a 1.5 g/t gold cut-off (see Klaza Property Amended Technical Report dated June 19, 2015 which can be viewed at www.sedar.com under the Rockhaven profile or on the Rockhaven website).  All but three of the announced holes lie beneath the current resource.

Mineralized veins are emplaced adjacent to a feldspar porphyry dyke that can be traced along the length of the zone.  Since its discovery in 2011, a total of 9 excavator trenches and 51 diamond drill holes have traced mineralization over a 500 m strike length and from surface to a maximum depth of 520 m down-dip.

Permitting and Engineering Studies

In 2015, Rockhaven directed a substantial portion of its exploration activities toward collection of environmental and engineering data that will be used in future mining studies and permitting applications. Baseline groundwater and environmental studies included the drilling and installation of five monitoring water wells, four vibrating wire piezometers and one thermistor cable. Packer tests were also completed.Geotechnical studies included split-tube oriented core drilling, which was completed on portions of 18 diamond drill holes, and rock strength tests on core taken from various locations within and around the resource areas.

The 2015 field program at the Klaza property consisted of 13,738 m drilled in 56 holes.   Maps, sections and core photos can be viewed at the Rockhaven’s website at www.rockhavenresources.com.

All analyses for rock and core samples from the 2015 program were performed by ALS Minerals with sample preparation in Whitehorse and assays and geochemical analyses in North Vancouver.  Core samples were routinely analyzed for gold by fire assay followed by atomic absorption (Au-AA24) and 48 other elements by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ME-MS61).  Samples that exceeded the detection limits of the routine methods were assayed for silver, copper, lead and zinc by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (Ag/Cu/Pb/Zn - OG62) and gold by gravimetric analysis (Au-GRA22).  Rigorous procedures were in place regarding sample collection, chain of custody and data entry.  Certified assay standards, coarse reject duplicates, field duplicates and blanks were routinely inserted into the sample stream to ensure integrity of the assay process.  All of the results reported have passed the QAQC screening.

The 2015 program was managed by Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) Limited (Archer Cathro).  Technical information in this news release has been approved by Matthew R. Dumala, P.Eng., a geological engineer with Archer Cathro and qualified person for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101.
