The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Dec. 11, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil lowered his recommendation for Rogers Communications to "hold" from "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil has an unchanged $57 share target. Analysts on average target the shares at $58.07. Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "Based on sports assets valuation and the rest of the business, we estimate that approximately 50 to 90 per cent of the value of sports assets is already reflected in Rogers's share price -- above the typical 50-per-cent discount to PMV for publicly traded sports assets. With the expected acquisition of Kilmer Group's 25-per-cent MLSE stake, we anticipate near-term balance sheet pressure and believe that a divestiture of MLSE shares (on a net basis vs the current situation) is uncertain for 2026." The Globe reported on Oct. 10 that Mr. Dubreuil continued to rate Rogers "buy." It was then worth $51.50. The Globe reported on Oct 17 that CIBC World Markets analyst Stephanie Price resumed coverage on Rogers with an "outperform" recommendation. The shares could then be had for $52.20.
