The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Scotia Capital analyst Maher Yaghi continues to rate Rogers Communications "sector outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Yaghi lowered his share target by $5.50 to $68. Analysts on average target the Class B shares at $72.10. The Globe says Mr. Yaghi believes wireless performance could be the "home run that turns things around" for Canadian telecommunications companies. Mr. Yaghi says in a note: "Rogers likely continued to outgrow peers in Q3 supported by wireless. Most industry participants we spoke with indicated that Rogers put up a very strong showing in wireless. While cable revenues are likely to have been pressured by a more intense competitive positioning in Western Canada, wireless and synergy delivery should more than offset those pressures. We continue to see the company on the right path to quickly delever the balance sheet over the next two years and the stock as offering the highest upside potential vs Canadian peers." The Globe reported on Oct. 13 that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil had reaffirmed his "hold" call on Rogers. The Class B shares could then be had for $52.78.
