PARTNERS VALUE INVESTMENTS L.P. ANNOUNCES Q3 2023 INTERIM RESULTS

Partners Value Investments LP has released its financial results for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2023. All amounts are stated in U.S. dollars.

The partnership recorded net income of $18.7-million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2023, compared with net income of $51.0-million in the prior-year quarter. The decrease in income in the current period was primarily driven by lower foreign currency gains and tax recoveries. A gain of $17.0-million was attributable to the equity limited partners (21 cents per equity limited partnership unit), and income of $1.7-million was attributable to preferred limited partners.

As at Sept. 30, 2023, the market prices of a Brookfield Corp. (formerly known as Brookfield Asset Management Inc.) and Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. share were $31.27 and $33.34, respectively. As at Nov. 16, 2023, the market prices of a BN and BAM share were $34.07 and $33.47, respectively.

Financial profile

The partnership's principal investments are its interest in approximately 134 million Class A limited voting shares of the corporation and approximately 31 million Class A limited voting shares of the manager. This represents approximately a 9-per-cent interest in the corporation and an 8-per-cent interest in the manager as at Sept. 30, 2023. In addition, the partnership owns a diversified investment portfolio of marketable securities and private fund interests.
