File: PressRelease.docx Globe says Canadian doctors believe medical marijuana safer than opiods for treatment In a recent news summary, Stockwatch noted a Globe and Mail Article from October 9, 2015 which reported that Canadian Doctors should use medical marijuana instead of frequently abused opioids to treat patients with neuropathic pain and other conditions cannabis has been proven to combat, HIV/AIDS researchers argue in a newly published editorial. "The Globe's Mike Hager writes that Thomas Kerr, Julio Montaner and Stephanie Lake of the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS argue the Canadian Medical Association is holding pot to a higher standard than other pain-relieving pharmaceutical drugs and is ignoring high-quality, peer-reviewed studies on the use of cannabis. Their editorial appears in the Journal of the Canadian Public Health Association. Dr. Kerr said five recent randomized control trials and two systemic reviews have found marijuana helps relieve neuropathic pain. Yet many doctors are still loath to prescribe a drug that has not been approved by Health Canada. "The evidence supporting the therapeutic use of cannabis is actually much stronger than the use of other drugs that are used to treat the same conditions and it also seems, in many cases, that cannabis has a more favourable side-effect profile," Dr. Kerr said." This is encouraging news for the medical marijuana industry in Canada and particularly Chlorment as it moves into the industry by purchasing a 100% interest in AAA Heidelberg, a private Ontario company that is in the process of applying for a MMPR license. Although the Company cannot guarantee nor estimate the timing for the issuance of a license to AAA Heidelberg, it is Chlormet's goal to become the next publicly-traded Canadian company to be granted a new medical marijuana production license. AAA Heidelberg has built an 8,800 square foot commercial facility to meet the highest pharmaceutical standards. It features a state-of-the-art HVAC and Surna water-chilled climate control system. These systems provide the backbone of the facilities automated systems for temperature, light, humidity, carbon dioxide and special ventilation for bacteria control. Grow lights, tracking software and auxiliary hardware have also been installed. On Oct. 20 2015, Health Canada notified AAA Heidelberg that it has successfully progressed through the security clearance stage and has entered the review stage. This is a significant development for AAA Heidelberg's application for a MMPR (Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations) license.
