The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Sept. 24, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Michael Harvey has reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Paramount Resources. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Harvey gave his share target a $3 boost to $26. Analysts on average target Paramount Resources shares at $25.13. Mr. Harvey notes "positive operational momentum" for Paramount Resources after a solid operational update, with third quarter volumes exceeding guidance and an outlook set to meet or surpass expectations. Paramount also announced the sale of 18.5 million shares of NuVista Energy at $16 per share, a 5-per-cent premium to Friday's close, totalling $296-million. Mr. Harvey called it "a tidy piece of business." Mr. Harvey says in a note: "Paramount has crystallized a meaningful gain as a result of this investment. ... Corporate volumes of 33,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day were above prior Q3 guide of 30-32,000 boe/d, largely driven by the Willesden Green property which is running at approximately 11,500 boe/d on the back of success from new Duvernay wells and an early start-up at Alhambra."
