The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 8, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Baltej Sidhu has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Brookfield Renewable Partners and Polaris Renewable Energy. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Sidhu boosted his unit target for Brookfield to $34 (U.S.) from $33 (U.S.). Analysts on average target Brookfield units at $35.73 (U.S.). For Polaris Mr. Sidhu hiked his share target by a loonie to $21 (Canadian). Analysts on average target Polaris shares at $23.50 (Canadian). Mr. Sidhu says in a note: "Our top ideas for 2026 include those with heavier exposure to the key themes highlighted in this piece; namely data centre capex, baseload demand, and network infrastructure build-out. We'd point to those within our coverage that have a balance between strong visibility to growth, multiple expansion opportunities and balance sheet strength are qualities of our top picks: BLX [Boralex, 'outperform' and $41 share target], HPSa [Hammond Power Solutions, 'outperform' and $195 share target] and BEP [Brookfield Renewable]. These are the catalysts/key events we expect in 2026 and the current valuation picture for each name."
