The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Dec. 20, edition that BMO Capital analyst Andrew Mikitchook has reiterated his "outperform" ranking for Orla Mining. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Mikitchook gave his share target a 50-cent trim to $7.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $7.25. Mr. Mikitchook says in a note: "[Monday] morning, Orla announced that its request to extend the mining concessions at Cerro Quema have been rejected and the project area has been declared a reserve. Although this announcement is unfavorable, in our opinion, it provides clarity for investors as Orla will focus time and finances advancing its other assets instead of Cerro Quema. We have updated our model by cutting our Panama valuations by 50 per cent to retain a modest placeholder value for Cerro Quema optionality." The Globe reported on June 2, Aug. 30 and Nov. 8 that Stifel analyst Stephen Soock rated Orla Mining "buy" when it was worth $6.24, $6.40 and $4.31.
