The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, April 12, edition that RBC Capital analyst Sabahat Khan has updated his rating for North West Company, increasing the share target to $40, up from $38. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $41.50. Mr. Khan continues to rate North West Company "buy." According to Mr. Khan, the North West Company's 2023 performance was strong, with a solid finish and higher than expected adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization due to a strong margin front. Mr. Khan says settlement payments in 2024/25 (timing uncertain) are expected to support Canadian sales thematically. However, Mr. Khan says the company may face continued pressure in international markets given the uncertain macro backdrop. The Globe reported on Dec. 6 that Mr. Khan rated North West Company "sector perform." The shares could then be had for $37.58. The Globe reported on Dec. 8 that TD Securities analyst Michael Van Aelst said North West Company was "firing on all cylinders." The shares could then be had for $39.65.
