ORIGINAL: Bulk Trench Sample Yields 5.83 Grams Per Tonne Gold From Novo’s Beatons Creek Gold Project, Western Australia

2015-08-05 09:24 ET - News Release

(via Thenewswire.ca)

VANCOUVER, BC / TheNewswire / August 5, 2015 - Novo Resources Corp. (TSX-V: NVO; OTCQX: NSRPF) ("Novo" or the "Company") is pleased to announce assay results from bulk samples taken from a test trench as well as 75 new costean sample sites . LeachWell analyses from 8 random 50kg samples of mineralized conglomerate (reef) taken from Bulk Sample Trench 2 range from 2.34-9.71 gpt Au and average 5.83 gpt Au (see Beatons Creek Trench LeachWell Gold Results table below ). In addition, four costean samples, BCC15-213 thru -216, were taken from reef exposed in the walls of the trench with results ranging from 3.74-9.76 gpt Au and averaging 5.70 gpt Au, nearly matching the grade of the 8 random grab samples ( see Beatons Creek Costean LeachWell Gold Results table below and photomosaics 1 and 2 attached to this news release ).

Most of the other 71 new costean samples (outside of the four from the bulk sample trench discussed above) come from the central portion of the oxide resource target area and were collected to infill critical gaps in the database ( see attached Drilling and Costean map ). Results include 1 m @ 14.34 gpt Au from costean BCC15-097, 0.8 m @ 11.02 gpt Au from costean BCC15-104, 1 m @ 19.50 gpt Au from costean BCC15-105, 0.9 m @ 11.59 gpt from costean BCC15-107, 0.5 m @ 11.75 gpt from costean BCC15-115, 0.6 m @ 12.86 gpt Au from costean BCC15-122, and 0.6 m @ 15.92 gpt from costean BCC 15-168. The average grade of all 75 costean samples announced in this news release is 4.39 gpt Au.

"Results from our bulk test trench samples are very encouraging," commented Dr. Quinton Hennigh, President and CEO of Novo Resources Corp. "Not only is the average grade of the eight random bulk grab samples of reef an impressive 5.83 gpt Au, the four costean samples taken from the walls of the trench average 5.70 gpt Au. The similarity in these numbers suggests that our bulk sampling approach is generating reproducible results in this very nuggety gold system. Such data will form the basis for our upcoming NI43-101 compliant resource model expected to be completed over the next 4-6 weeks."

Costean samples were taken using pneumatic hammers from thoroughly oxidized gold-bearing reef material exposed in shallow, approximately one-meter wide trenches dug using an excavator or by hand. Given their large size, these samples are considered bulk samples (45-60 kg). The importance of these large samples is discussed in the Company's news release dated April 21, 2015. Novo collected several hundred costean samples in October and November, 2014 and more recently in March-July, 2015. A further batch of approximately 40 costean samples is due back within the next week or so, as are all outstanding RC drill results.

Quality Control and Quality Assurance

Costean samples discussed in this news release were collected under the supervision of Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Novo's Chief Executive Officer, President and Director. These samples were taken using pneumatic hammers from thoroughly oxidized gold-bearing reef material exposed in shallow, approximately one-meter wide trenches dug using an excavator or by hand. Costean samples can be considered bulk samples given their large size (45-60 kg). Because costean samples are collected from the top to bottom of a gold-bearing conglomerate horizon over widths of around one meter, they can be considered representative of what is exposed in the trench.

Costean samples were submitted to Genalysis Laboratories, Perth, WA for analysis. Preparation entails crushing the entire sample to -2 mm and pulverizing a 9 kg split to P80 -100 microns. A 3 kg split of pulverized material is subjected to the LeachWell technique, an accelerated CN leach (6 hour leach time) then subjected to analysis by mass spectrometry.

Dr. Quinton Hennigh, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, President and Director and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has approved the technical contents of this news release.
