The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, March 26, edition that Northland Power
says chief executive officer Mike Crawley will step down from the top job later this year.
A Canadian Press dispatch to The Globe reports that the power utility says Mr. Crawley will remain with Northland Power until Sept. 30 as part of a succession plan that includes a global search for a new leader.
Northland Power says board chairman John Brace has been appointed executive chairman to act as a bridge between Mr. Crawley and the next CEO.
Ian Pearce, chairman of the governance and nominating committee, has been appointed lead independent director.
Mr. Brace was Northland's CEO from 2003 to 2018.
After the appointment of a new CEO, Mr. Brace is expected to return to his position as non-executive chairman and Mr. Pearce will remain as lead independent director.
