The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 17, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Zachary Evershed has moved his recommendation for Neighbourly Pharmacy to "tender" from "sector perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Evershed cut his share target back by $2 to $18.50. Mr. Evershed predicts a "smooth" close to Neighbourly Pharmacy's definitive agreement to go private with Persistence Capital Partners. Mr. Evershed says in a note: "We still think shareholders will support the transaction, looking forward to a liquidity event to get the opportunity to redeploy funds. As usual, the transaction's approval will require a majority of the minority, excluding PCP's 50.05 per cent of shares, for the vote to pass, which will simultaneously satisfy the requirement for the approval of 66.7 per cent of all shareholders. The date of the vote will be confirmed in a circular which will be mailed out in the coming weeks." The Globe reported on Aug. 3 that Desjardins rated Neighbourly Pharmacy "hold" when it was worth $17.23. The Globe reported on Oct. 26 that Mr. Evershed was keeping his "sector perform" call on Neighbourly intact. The shares could then be had for $17.76.
