The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Feb. 3, edition that RBC Capital Markets analyst Nelson Ng has reiterated his "outperform" recommendation for Methanex. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Ng gave his share target a $5 boost to $55 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $52.86. Mr. Ng says in a note: "We have updated our model for Methanex's February reference prices and a slight tweak to CMA's (chemical markets analytics) methanol price outlook (down roughly 1 per cent). Despite the modest revision, CMA continues to forecast an upward price trend through 2028 driven by supply constraints and improving demand. We are reiterating our 'outperform' rating and increasing our price target to $55 as we continue to see strong cash flow generation deleveraging the balance sheet, positioning the company to restart share buybacks in H2/26." The Globe reported on Sept. 26 that National Bank Financial analyst Michael Doumet had started coverage on Methanex with an "outperform" recommendation. It was then worth $55.41. The Globe reported on Jan. 6 that Mr. Ng continued to rate Methanex "outperform." The shares were then going for $59.11.
