The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, June 30, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Jaeme Gloyn commenced coverage on MCAN Mortgage with an "outperform" recommendation and a $27 share target. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $25.33. Mr. Gloyn says in a note: "MCAN Mortgage is our preferred name among the lenders. Our view reflects MCAN's differentiated model that provides a structural funding advantage and higher quality return profile versus peers. Further, we believe MCAN is better positioned in an adverse credit scenario." The Globe's guest columnist Norman Rothery recommended buying MCAN on Feb. 21. The shares could then be had for $24.38. The Globe reported on Feb. 25 that Canaccord Genuity analyst Zachary Weisbrod had reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for MCAN. The shares could then be had for $24.36.
