MINDBIO DEPLOYS ENGINEERS TO SOUTH AMERICAN MINING INDUSTRY, ACCELERATES INVESTMENT IN ENTERPRISE VOICE AI HEALTH DIAGNOSTICS.

Mindbio Therapeutics Corp., following its recent success in meeting with mining and health executives in South America, has deployed a team of software engineers to the continent's mining industry, starting in Chile. The team deployed will be working with health and mining officials to build a protocol for practical implementation of drug and alcohol screening by voice.

The voice analytics enterprise solution being developed by Mindbio's engineers is a game-changer for intoxication detection in the mining industry, aviation and construction, and where high-volume testing at scale for a variety of drugs and alcohol presents major challenges for management and law enforcement, is time consuming, physically invasive and expensive.

The company's chief executive officer Justin Hanka said: "Mindbio is seizing its first mover advantage in voice activated AI digital health diagnostics by investing heavily to develop scalable solutions for workplace health and safety related to drug and alcohol intoxication. We are excited by the response we have received and look to provide a solution to the mining industry initially in Chile and then more broadly in South America and globally."

National work force studies in Chile alone, show that alcohol consumption among mining workers exceeds 75 per cent and the proportion of problem drinkers is above 40 per cent with drug use estimated in 9 per cent of the more than 200,000 mining workers in the country (ACHS, 2012: SENDA, 2024). Internationally more than 20 to 25 per cent of all occupational accidents are directly or indirectly linked to substance use (International Labour Organization, 1996, 2022: Gomez et al., 2002). This translates to tens of thousands of preventable workplace incidents related to drug and alcohol intoxication, creating a large potential market for the company's AI platform.
