DALLAS -- (Business Wire)
LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners Inc. (TSXV: LIB | OTCQB: VLTLF | FSE: I2D) (“LibertyStream” or the “Company”) announced that it has entered into a lithium carbonate sales contract (the “Sales Contract”) with a leading international battery material maker that supplies cathodes to the U.S. market (the “Customer”). The Sales Contract provides for the Company to supply 500 metric tonnes of U.S.-origin lithium carbonate in 2027 and sets out binding terms for the supply of an additional 17,000 metric tonnes of U.S.-origin lithium carbonate through December 31, 2031, with detailed terms for 2028 through 2031 to be finalized under a separate long-term supply agreement (the “LTSA”).
Volumes for 2028 through 2031 are subject to execution of the LTSA. Pricing and other commercial terms are not being disclosed. Meeting the scheduled delivery volumes will require the Company to develop, finance and commission additional U.S. production capacity.
The Sales Contract is the definitive agreement contemplated by a memorandum of understanding between the Company and the Customer dated September 3, 2026. It follows the Company’s field operations, direct lithium extraction and refining testing, lithium carbonate production at its Freedom Launchpad facility, customer qualification programs, third-party testing and initial purchase orders.
The Sales Contract is in addition to the Company’s previously announced 600-tonne-per-year industrial offtake agreement.
Operations Update
LibertyStream continues to advance commercialization activities in support of future lithium carbonate production. LibertyStream has delivered lithium carbonate samples to multiple battery and industrial-grade prospective customers as part of ongoing product qualification and testing programs.
LibertyStream currently produces lithium carbonate from U.S. oilfield brine at its Freedom Launchpad facility in Texas. Freedom 1, located in Howard County, Texas, is the Company’s planned initial commercial facility under its previously announced agreement with Select Water Solutions. Freedom 1 is designed to integrate LibertyStream’s direct lithium extraction and refining technologies with existing oilfield water infrastructure to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate from U.S. oilfield brine.
