Leocor completes VTEM Plus survey at Copper Creek

LEOCOR MINING COMPLETES VTEM AIRBORNE EM SURVEY AT COPPER CREEK, BAIE VERTE, NEWFOUNDLAND

A VTEM Plus airborne EM (electromagnetic) survey has been completed by Geotech Ltd. at Leocor Mining Inc.'s Copper Creek prospect, located within the company's 2,002-hectare (ha) contiguous Baie Verte gold-copper exploration package. The Baie Verte project is situated on the north-central coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

The survey follows up the company's maiden 2025 drilling campaign on the prospect, which succeeded in identifying stockwork chalcopyrite mineralization interpreted to represent feeder-type mineralization of a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralizing system. In addition to stockwork chalcopyrite mineralization, the program identified additional hallmarks of VMS systems, including anomalous zinc mineralization and lenses of massive and semi-massive pyrite.

Results of the 2025 drilling campaign are disclosed in company news release dated July 8, 2025, titled "Leocor Mining Drills 3.6 m of 1.49 per cent Cu, Including 0.9 m of 3.22 per cent Cu within 6.1 m of 0.99 per cent Cu, at Copper Creek."

"The completion of this survey is an important step in the continued development of our Baie Verte ground," said Alex Klenman, chief executive officer. "These results will play an important role in identifying priority targets for our next phase of field exploration. About VTEM Plus

Geotech's proprietary VTEM Plus system is a helicopter-borne time-domain electromagnetic technology that maps subsurface variations in electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility. The system is highly effective for VMS exploration because dominant sulphide minerals, including chalcopyrite and pyrite, display strong electrical conductivity contrasts against unmineralized host rocks. VTEM Plus uses a low base operating frequency to penetrate to depths up to 500 metres.

About the project

The Baie Verte Peninsula has a well-documented mineral endowment that includes several past-producing VMS mines. Bedrock geology of the project area includes mafic volcanic and metasedimentary sequences of the Notre-Dame subzone of the Dunnage zone of the Newfoundland Appalachians. The Notre-Dame subzone is characterized by Ordovician submarine bimodal volcanics, metasedimentary rocks and ophiolite sequences from a volcanic arc environment. This geological setting is consistent with the development of exhalative and replacement-type VMS deposits. The most notable occurrences within the Notre Dame subzone on the Baie Verte Peninsula include the past-producing Terra Nova, Rambler and Tilt Cove mines.
