The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, March 1, edition that RBC Capital analyst Darko Mihelic has reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Laurentian Bank of Canada. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Mihelic gave his share target a $4 trim to $26. Analysts on average target the shares at $28.55. Mr. Mihelic says in a note: "Q1/24 core EPS came in below our estimate, even after excluding the four-cent impact from the mainframe outage in September. Expenses remain elevated, and we believe this will continue as Laurentian Bank navigates through a new strategic plan to adjust its business. We lower our estimates on lower loan growth next quarter. Our [share] price target decreases on lower earnings estimates and a lower P/B target multiple." The Globe reported on Nov. 23 that Mr. Mihelic rated Laurentian Bank "underperform." The shares could then be had for $25.86. The Globe reported on Feb. 14 that Desjardins Securities analyst Doug Young continued to rate Laurentian Bank "hold." The shares could then be had for $26.02.
