The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, July 1, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Michael Harvey notes "fluid geopolitics" but does not anticipate major changes in capital expenditure or guidance from Canadian energy firms in the upcoming second quarter earnings season, highlighting themes like the start-up of LNG Canada and pricing views. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Harvey says in a note: "We expect that FCF generation and execution of ROC programs will continue to be focal points. Our second quarter production and cash flow estimates generally sit in line with FactSet consensus figures on recent revisions; 2025 capex/production points to 17 per cent/15 per cent year-over-year gains in aggregate as midcap producers continue to lean into modest growth. ... Select third party outages in June are likely to impact numbers as well, alongside strategic shut-ins on low AECO gas pricing." With that view, Mr. Harvey adjusted his share target for Kelt Exploration to $8.50 from $8, while maintaining an "outperform" recommendation. Analysts on average target the shares at $9.17. The Globe reported on April 9 that Raymond James rated Kelt Exploration "outperform." It was then worth $5.22.
