The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 20, edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Dalton Baretto has moved his recommendation for Ivanhoe Mines to "hold" from "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Baretto gave his share target a $3 trim to $15. Analysts on average target the shares at $20. Mr. Baretto says in a note: "[Wednesday] night Ivanhoe Mines released its full Q4/25 financial and operating results. Production results were previously disclosed, along with 2026 and 2027 production guidance, but we note that last night's release included cost and capex guidance for 2026 and 2027. A full updated mine plan for Kamoa-Kakula is expected in March, reflecting changes required following the major seismic activity at Kakula in May, 2025, (from which the operation is still recovering). ... Given that production and 2026/2027 guidance was previously disclosed, we do not see the full Q4/25 financial results as overly meaningful to the investment thesis (particularly ahead of the updated Kamoa-Kakula mine plan)." The Globe reported on Feb. 12 that Stifel industrial metals analysts Ralph Profiti and Cole McGill had reaffirmed their "buy" recommendation for Ivanhoe Mines. Its shares were then going for $16.69.
