The Financial Post reports in its Thursday, Nov. 9, edition that Indigo Books and Music chief executive officer Heather Reisman says the company is embarking on a transformation plan. A Canadian Press dispatch to the Post reports that Ms. Reisman has yet to outline what specific steps the plan includes. On a Wednesday call to discuss the company's second quarter, Ms. Reisman mentioned the plan has both short- and long-term initiatives meant to "fully re-energize our connection to our customers." She cautioned it will take a bit of time before Indigo sees its finances reach the levels she desires, but feels the company is headed in the right direction. Ms. Reisman's remarks were made on Indigo's quarterly call, the first since she returned to the company following her retirement. When asked for specifics about the plan, Indigo spokesman Melissa Perri replied with a statement that said the company would have more details in the coming months. On top of a slew of executive changes, Indigo's second quarter included the launch of a new e-commerce platform. However, Ms. Reisman and Indigo chief financial officer Craig Loudon say the platform faced "critical disruptions" that hampered its on-line sales.
