iA Financial enters partnership with Science&Humans

2026-09-01 19:20 ET - News Release

Mr. Louis-Philippe Pouliot reports

IA FINANCIAL GROUP AND SCIENCE&HUMANS ADDRESS A GROWING WORKPLACE CHALLENGE: WOMEN'S AND MEN'S HORMONAL AND METABOLIC HEALTH

iA Financial Corp. Inc. has entered a partnership with Science&Humans, a Canadian hormonal and metabolic health platform, enhancing its group benefit offering by providing access to structured clinical support.

The care path includes an on-line medical assessment, testing, virtual consultations with a clinician, a personalized treatment plan and one year of continuous clinical follow-up. Plan members also have unlimited access to a health care professional, medical messaging services, and, if required, home delivery of prescribed medications or pickup at a pharmacy of their choice.

"Hormonal and metabolic health challenges can significantly affect energy, focus, mood, sleep and mental well-being, yet they often go unrecognized in the workplace. Our goal is to provide organizations and their work forces with a more holistic, pro-active and people-focused approach that provides support across the full continuum of care from prevention through to lasting recovery. This initiative also reflects our commitment to playing an active role in people's daily lives by helping Canadians achieve total well-being," said Louis-Philippe Pouliot, executive vice-president, group benefits and retirement solutions, iA Financial Group.

A growing health and workplace issue

The impacts of hormonal and metabolic health issues can extend well beyond the individual, affecting absenteeism, disability rates, organizational productivity and the long-term costs borne by group insurance plans:

  • More than six months: the average wait time to access specialized care in Canada;
  • More than one in four men (27 per cent): the proportion affected by metabolic syndrome, a major contributor to cardiovascular disease and mortality;
  • $237-million: the annual productivity losses incurred by Canadian employers due to menopause-related health issues.

"Too many people are living with hormonal and metabolic symptoms that affect their well-being, quality of life and ability to function day to day yet lack timely access to appropriate care. Through our partnership with iA Financial Group, we want to make specialized care more accessible, easier to navigate and more relevant for more people through a rigorous and personalized clinical approach," said Aftab Pashaw, co-founder and chief executive officer, Science&Humans.

Through its partnership with Science&Humans, iA is expanding its offering to include the following seven specialized support programs:

  • Women's reproductive health;
  • Men's reproductive health;
  • Women's hormonal health;
  • Men's hormonal health;
  • Perimenopause and menopause;
  • Andropause;
  • Weight optimization.

The program is offered at a preferred rate, and, depending on the terms of the plan, eligible expenses may also qualify for reimbursement through a health spending account.

The partnership builds on enhancements iA made to its women's health and weight management offering in 2025 and introduces iA's first structured initiative focused on men's health. By adding dedicated hormonal and metabolic health support, it complements existing drug coverage and paramedical services with specialized clinical guidance while helping organizations provide a more cohesive response to a diverse and evolving range of health needs.
