The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, March 7, edition that CIBC World Markets analyst Nik Priebe has reiterated his "neutral" recommendation for Guardian Capital Group. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Priebe hiked his share target by $3 to $47. Analysts on average target the shares at $53.50. Mr. Priebe says in a note: "Guardian released its full annual report. The scale of outflows was greater than we had anticipated and reinforces that 2024 was a challenging year for the asset management business. Otherwise, there are some green shoots emerging for some of the longer-term growth initiatives, including the build-out of the company's presence in the direct retail channel and scaling of the infrastructure strategy." The Globe reported on Feb. 27, 2024, that Mr. Priebe had lowered his recommendation for Guardian Capital to "neutral" from "outperformer." The shares could then be had for $50.33. The Globe reported on May 15, 2024, that Scotia Capital rated Guardian "sector outperform." It was then worth $45. The Globe reported on Aug. 13, 2024, that BMO Capital analyst Etienne Ricard had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Guardian Capital. The shares could then be had for $42.35.
