2026-08-21 18:28 ET - News Release

Ms. Ilona Lindsay reports

AIRCRAFT INCIDENT NEAR PRINCE GEORGE, BRITISH COLUMBIA

Finlay Minerals Ltd. has confirmed that three individuals associated with its Pil property exploration programs were aboard the aircraft involved in an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard in Prince George, B.C., on the afternoon of Aug. 20, 2026.

Unfortunately, the aircraft struck several vehicles as the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a busy public road. Tragically, the company has learned that a person in one of those vehicles has since passed away. On behalf of Finlay Minerals and all its associated contractors, the company extends its most sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.

The aircraft involved in the accident, operated by Sekani Air Ltd., was transporting three company-related personnel south on a scheduled break from work on the company's Pil project. The company can confirm that all Finlay-related personnel are safe and at home.

In addition to Finlay's personnel, other passengers on board included personnel from several other mineral exploration companies as well as the pilot; they too, are safe and uninjured.

Transport Canada is investigating this aviation incident. The company would like to re-emphasize its strong commitment to the safety of the company's employees, contractors and the public. The company will support its project's crew members and their families, as needed, following this incident, and the company will provide updates, as appropriate, while the investigation into this tragic accident progresses.

We seek Safe Harbor.
