CORTINA LEASE TERMINATION UPHELD

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California has denied the complaint filed by Earthworks Industries Inc.'s wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc. (CIWM), challenging the order of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Board of Indian Appeals (IBIA) to cancel the federally approved lease between CIWM and the Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation of the Cortina Rancheria, California.

On Oct. 23, 2025, the court ordered that the plaintiff's motion (CIWM) for summary judgment be denied.

It was further ordered that the defendant's summary judgment motion and defendant-intervenor's summary judgment motion be granted.

The judgement was entered in accordance with the court's order and filed on Oct. 23, 2025.
