The web page outlines the project's timeline, including the province's plan to submit its application to the major projects office in July, 2026, the project's status, the benefits of a pipeline and indigenous consultation efforts. Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in Paris on Tuesday that a functioning Venezuelan economy will produce more oil, benefiting its people and bringing more stability to the Western Hemisphere. He added that Canadian oil will be competitive because it is low-risk and low-cost. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said recent events in Venezuela emphasized the importance of expediting pipeline development to diversify Canada's oil export markets.
