Excel Gold Mining today announces the resignations of Mr. Peter Chodos and Mr. Claude Dufresne asindependent directors
--->and members of the Audit Committee of the Company effective as of July 18, 2011. 
Following Decision 2011-026-001 rendered by the Bureau de décision et de révision des valeursmobilières
---> du Québec(the "Bureau") on July 11, 2011 on ex parte cease trading orders requested the Autorité des march&
--->#233;s financiers (the "AMF") on 35 parties including the Company, after an inquiry was made by the AMF, but where suc
--->h request for an order on the Company was rejected by the Bureau, and the TSX Venture Exchange subsequent decision to 
--->halt the trading of the Company's stock until certain verifications are made, both directors who had joined the Board 
--->only inDecember2010 have chosen toresign since they felt that they have no information or knowledge of what could have
