DLP samples up to 2.25% Cu, 195 g/t Ag at Aurora

2024-02-08 07:39 ET - News Release

Mr. Ian Gendall reports

DLP RESOURCES CONFIRMS EXTENSION OF COPPER, SILVER AND MOLYBDENUM MINERALIZATION TO NE OF AURORA DRILLING WITH VALUES OF UP TO 2.25% CU AND 195G/T AG AND 182PPM MO IN ROCK SAMPLES

DLP Resources Inc. has received complete rock sampling results for the area immediately northeast of the current drilling at the Aurora porphyry copper-molybdenum project in southern Peru.

Results for 40 rock samples taken to the northeast of the DLP drilling identified an area of anomalous copper, molybdenum and silver extending over approximately 700 metres by 500 metres. This area also overlies a similar magnetic anomaly that underlies the main porphyry area.

Highlights:

  1. Rock chip sample 1062 returned 2.25 per cent copper and 195 grams per tonne silver. This sample was taken from a moderately silicified and brecciated hornfels with mineralization consisting of pyrite-chalcopyrite-covellite-chalcocite and copper oxides. Sampling was done over a surface area of 10 m by 10 m.
  2. Further rock chip samples with highly anomalous Cu, Ag and/or molybdenum results included:
    1. Sample 1084 -- 1.5150 per cent Cu, 5.53 grams per tonne Ag and 1.01 parts per million Mo;
    2. Sample 1060 -- 0.2680 per cent Cu, 2.09 g/t Ag and 74.3 ppm Mo;
    3. Sample 1065 -- 0.0527 per cent Cu, 2.28 g/t Ag and 137 ppm Mo;
    4. Sample 1067 -- 0.0095 per cent Cu, 0.79 g/t Ag and 53.1 ppm Mo;
    5. Sample 1074 -- 0.3440 per cent Cu, 5.56 g/t Ag and 1.78 ppm Mo;
    6. Sample 1075 -- 0.1300 per cent Cu, 0.13 g/t Ag and 4.86 ppm Mo;
    7. Sample 1078 -- 0.1880 per cent Cu, 4.77 g/t Ag and 5.59 ppm Mo;
    8. Sample 1086 -- 0.1205 per cent Cu, 4.61 g/t Ag and 1.23 ppm Mo;
    9. Sample 1099 -- 0.0077 per cent Cu, 0.29 g/t Ag and 182 ppm Mo.

See an attached table for the full set of results for the rock chip samples.

Ian Gendall, president and chief executive officer, commented: "We are very encouraged with the results from rock sampling to the northeast of the current drilling of 2023. Anomalous Cu, Mo and Ag in rocks has identified an extension of at least 700 m by 500 m to the northeast and southeast, which we will expand drilling into in 2024."

Quality assurance/quality control

DLP Resources Peru SAC, a subsidiary of the company, supervises sampling and carries out surface sampling and mapping of outcrop at the Aurora project. Rock chip sampling was done within a maximum area of 25 m by 25 m and descriptions were carried out by a geologist. Samples are bagged and sealed on site before transportation to the ALS Peru SAC sample preparation facility in Arequipa by company vehicles and staff. Rocks are crushed, with 70 per cent passing fewer than two millimetres. Each sample is split with a riffle splitter, and 250 g are pulverized to 85 per cent passing fewer than 75 micrometres. Prepared samples are sent to Lima by ALS Peru for analysis. ALS Peru is an independent laboratory. Samples are analyzed for 51 elements using aqua regia digestion and analyzed by ICP-MS plus ICPAES analysis (ME-MS41). Overlimit samples for copper and silver were reanalyzed by four-acid digestion and ICP-AES (ME-OG62). ALS meets all requirements of international standards ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO 9001:2015 for analytical procedures.

DLP Resources independently monitors quality assurance/quality control through a program that includes the insertion of blind certified reference materials (standards), blanks and pulp duplicate samples.
