DISTRICT COPPER REPORTS THAT QUANTEC GEOSCIENCE HAS MOBILIZED ITS FIELD CREW FOR DCIP SURVEY AT FLAGSHIP COPPER KEG PORPHYRY COPPER PROJECT

Quantec Geoscience has mobilized District Copper Corp.'s field crew to complete the survey using its Titan DCIP system.

Our 2025 mineralogical work confirmed that Copper Keg hosts the same intrusive phases responsible for the deposits at Highland Valley, and the DCIP survey is designed to map the dimensions of the system and define drill targets for our first-ever drill program. With Teck Highland Valley Copper Corporation having recently staked over 12,000 hectares surrounding the project, Getty Copper actively drilling the district to our south, and record levels of investment flowing into the Highland Valley corridor, the timing of this program could not be stronger."

Survey objectives

The planned survey will cover 14.5 line kilometres over two priority porphyry copper targets at the northern end of the Copper Keg project. The program is designed to delineate and extend the open-ended chargeability anomaly identified during the company's 2021 DCIP survey, which was interpreted as one or more deep intrusive bodies underlying the project's extensively altered and mineralized gossan zone.

Mineralogical and petrographic work completed during the 2025 field season confirmed the presence of potassic, propylitic and phyllic alteration assemblages, intrusive breccias, and multiple phases of high-temperature hydrothermal activity consistent with a buried porphyry copper system at depth. Whole rock and trace element geochemistry identified outcrops exhibiting geochemical signatures matching the Bethsaida and Skeena intrusive phases of the Guichon Creek batholith, the same late-stage intrusives that host the porphyry copper deposits at Teck Resources' Highland Valley Copper operation approximately 20 kilometres to the south.

The integration of the DCIP survey results with the company's existing geological, geochemical and geophysical data sets will form the basis for drill target definition and the commencement of the drill permitting process, advancing Copper Keg toward its first-ever diamond drill program.

Strategic context

The company notes that Teck Highland Valley Copper Corp. acquired eight mineral claims totalling approximately 12,139 hectares in the area surrounding the Copper Keg project on Aug. 17, 2026, as disclosed in the company's news release dated Sept. 14, 2026.[1]

About Copper Keg

The Copper Keg project comprises 23 claims totalling 6,526 hectares at the northern end of the Guichon Creek batholith, the same intrusive complex that hosts every major porphyry copper deposit in the Highland Valley district. The project benefits from excellent infrastructure with power, gas and rail access, located within the Kamloops mining division, a few hours' drive from the regional centre of Kelowna.

Historical exploration at Copper Keg dates back to the late 1800s. The B.C. Minister of Mines Annual Report for 1898 documented a "spectacular gossan" several kilometres long, located approximately nine kilometres from Ashcroft, B.C., describing "a large body of ore, carrying gold and silver, but principally copper," where a 24-metre adit was driven into the mineralized zone. Despite this early recognition, subsequent exploration was limited and superficial in nature, and the property has never been tested by modern diamond drilling.

District Copper has carried out four years of systematic exploration between 2021 and 2025, including DCIP geophysics, high-sensitivity airborne magnetics and radiometrics, soil and rock geochemistry, detailed geological mapping, and petrographic and whole rock geochemical studies. While these data sets have been disclosed individually in previous news releases (see Oct. 16, 2025; Nov. 18, 2025; March 25, 2026; and June 23, 2026), a comprehensive review of the full data package was included in a company release dated Aug. 19, 2026, presenting the first integrated geological model relating them to one another and explaining the rationale for the upcoming survey design.

Active Highland Valley district

The Copper Keg project is located within one of Canada's most active copper exploration and development corridors. Teck Resources' Highland Valley copper operation, located approximately 20 kilometres to the south, is Canada's largest copper mine and received a $2.1-billion to $2.4-billion mine life extension approval to continue operations through 2046. The government of Canada has committed $50-million in conditional funding to upgrade B.C. Hydro's regional transmission system in support of the Highland Valley expansion.

Getty Copper, whose Getty project is located in the Highland Valley district directly between Copper Keg and Teck's operation, recently reported drill results from Getty South including 46 metres of 1.47 per cent Cu within 150 m of 0.71 per cent Cu and 68.5 m of 0.81 per cent Cu from 39.5 m depth, with mineralization extended 72 m below historical intercepts and remaining open within a broader IP geophysical anomaly. Getty Copper has stated that it controls approximately 25 per cent of the Highland Valley copper district and is preparing a fully financed 4,000- to 6,000-metre fall drilling program targeting additional resource expansion at Getty North and Getty South.

Tower Resources Ltd. continues active exploration at its Rabbit North property between the Highland Valley and New Afton mines, reporting significant gold and copper-gold drill results from the same Kamloops porphyry copper district.

British Columbia's mineral exploration sector posted record spending of $751-million in 2025, with copper overtaking gold as the province's top exploration target for the first time on record.

Chris M. Healey, PGeo, chief geologist, and a director of District Copper, is the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 guidelines who is responsible for the technical content of this release and approves its release.
