The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, May 2, edition that National Bank analyst Shane Nagle sees Copper Mountain Mining's operational performance improving throughout the year. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Nagle trimmed his share target to $2.60 from $2.65. Mr. Nagle issued his "tender" recommendation following the release of in-line first quarter results. Analysts on average target the shares at $2.68. Mr. Nagle says in a note: "Mill feed grades, throughput and recoveries are expected to improve throughout the year as Q1 was impacted by downtime associated with the December ransomware attack and a mechanical failure of the reclaim water barge. With an alternative water pumping system installed in March and process control systems fully restored as of quarter end, the processing plant is expected to operate smoothly. ... We continue to recommend voting in favour of the transaction with Hudbay Minerals and do not anticipate any additional [rival bidders] given the bilateral negotiation process and opportunities provided by the combined portfolio in terms of delivering near-term operational improvements and providing longer-term optionality/asset diversification."
