CI GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT LAUNCHES GLOBAL SMALL/MID-CAP AND INTERNATIONAL GROWTH EQUITY MANDATES, PROVIDING NEW DIVERSIFICATION OPTIONS FOR MUTUAL FUND AND ETF INVESTORS
CI Global Asset Management
(CI GAM) has launched new mutual fund and ETF (exchange-traded fund) mandates subadvised by Munro Partners, an award-winning global growth equity investment team.
The new funds are:
- CI Munro International Growth Equity Fund -- offered in two ETF series, which have closed their initial offering of units and begin trading today on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the tickers CMIG (ETF Canadian-dollar series) and CMIG.U (ETF United States-dollar hedged series);
-
CI Munro International Growth Equity Corporate Class --
offered in mutual fund series A, AH, F, FH, I, IH, P and PH; the fund will invest primarily in units of CI Munro International Growth Equity Fund;
-
CI Munro Global Growth Small/Mid Cap Equity Corporate Class --
offered in mutual fund series A, AH, F, FH, I, IH, P and PH.
"Munro has produced an outstanding track record through a disciplined focus on global growth companies benefiting from structural changes in the world economy," said Jennifer Sinopoli, chief distribution officer for CI GAM.
"These funds expand the successful CI Munro fund lineup and provide Canadian investors with additional options to diversify globally by targeting high-growth companies in international markets or in the global small and mid-cap segment. Both portfolios represent the best ideas of a proven investment management team.
"Furthermore, the CI Munro International Growth Equity mandate is offered in mutual fund and ETF series, providing additional flexibility for investors," said Ms. Sinopoli.
Why invest with Munro?
Established in 2016, Melbourne-based Munro is a global growth equity specialist focused on companies positioned to benefit from significant technological and structural changes affecting global society. The firm, led by founding partner and chief investment officer Nick Griffin, believes that the market is ultimately characterized by few winners and many losers. The team's approach is to identify underappreciated companies within proprietary "areas of interest" representing structural change. They seek to invest in the winners of tomorrow -- those companies that will generate sustained earnings growth over time.
Munro has produced strong results with the existing lineup of CI Munro funds, which are offered in mutual fund series and ETF series, which trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange:
-
CI Munro Global Growth Equity Fund;
-
CI Munro Global Energy Transition Fund
(formerly
CI Global Climate Leaders Fund);
-
CI Munro Alternative Global Growth Fund.
CI Munro Global Growth Equity Fund and CI Munro Global Energy Transition Fund were winners of FundGrade A+ awards for 2025 in the global equity category. CI Munro Global Growth Equity Fund was also the winner of two 2025 LSEG Lipper Fund awards for both a mutual fund and an ETF series.
About the new CI Munro funds
CI Munro International Growth Equity Fund and CI Munro International Growth Equity Corporate Class -- The funds' investment objective is to maximize long-term capital appreciation primarily through exposure in a portfolio of growth-oriented companies located primarily outside of Canada and the United States.
CI Munro Global Growth Small/Mid Cap Equity Corporate Class
--
The fund's investment objective is to maximize long-term capital appreciation primarily through exposure in a portfolio of growth-oriented small and medium capitalization companies located anywhere in the world.
CI Global Climate Leaders Fund name change
As noted above, CI Global Climate Leaders Fund has been renamed CI Munro Global Energy Transition Fund, effective today. There are no changes to the fund's investment objective, investment strategies, fund codes, or ETF series tickers and Cusip numbers.
The new name better reflects the fund's investment mandate, given that climate change represents the problem, while energy transition represents the solution. The change provides clarity for investors, as well as ensuring consistency with the names of other CI GAM funds subadvised by Munro.
