The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Robert Young is keeping his "buy" recommendation on Celestica intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Young gave his share target a $30 boost to $430 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $371.75. Mr. Young says in a note: "Celestica served up a buffet of beats with Q4 ahead of its guidance. ... We anticipated a more positive initial reaction, which suggests that investor expectations have drifted ahead of consensus. The culprit is likely a large, unexpected increase (nearly five times year-over-year) to CapEx balanced against a robust, but ultimately short of expected increase to the F26 guidance. ... There were other nits in the quarter such as flat HPS revenue QoQ and a QoQ decline in the third largest 10-per-cent customer, which we believe are related to timing and mix of programs. Management noted its customer demand outlook is above the current guidance and in some cases, extends beyond F26. We would note that Celestica has a long period of guiding conservatively and it also has a long track record of very careful deployment of capital into CapEx or M&A, which suggest that confidence is very high."
