CI GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCES NEW SERIES OF CI EMERGING MARKETS BOND FUND

CI Financial Corp.'s CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM) has launched a new series of CI Emerging Markets Bond Fund, providing individual investors with expanded access to this distinct asset class.

The fund is now available in Series A, F and P, having previously been offered only in Series I, which is available to institutional investors.

"For fixed-income investors, an allocation to emerging markets offers increased portfolio diversification and the potential for higher yields and returns," said Jennifer Sinopoli, executive vice-president and head of distribution for CI GAM.

"The fund provides access to a diverse range of sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate issuers from emerging markets whose returns are often uncorrelated with those of developed markets. Investors can also rely on the expertise of the CI GAM team, which manages the risks of emerging markets through macroeconomic analysis and individual security research and selection."

CI GAM is one of Canada's largest fixed-income investment managers, with approximately $23.8-billion (as at Sept. 30, 2023) in fixed-income assets under management across a broad range of asset classes and fund mandates.

The fund's investment objective is to obtain long-term total returns through interest income and capital gains by primarily investing in debt securities issued by governments, quasi-sovereign entities and corporations in emerging market countries, or that provide exposure to emerging markets. The fund may also invest in government and corporate debt securities of developed countries.
