The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Aug. 3, edition that Barclays analyst John Aiken continues to rate CI Financial "equal weight." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Aiken gave his share target a $2 boost to $18. Analysts on average target the shares at $20. Mr. Aiken says in a note: "We are anticipating pressure on management fees as well as cost inflation to drive a year-over-year earnings retracement for the asset managers despite modestly higher asset levels when compared to last year. Heading into reporting, we have made modest changes to our estimates to reflect reported asset and sales levels." The Globe reported on Feb. 28 that Scotia Capital analyst Phill Hardie had reiterated his "sector perform" recommendation for CI Financial. The shares could then be had for $14.97. The Globe reported on May 16 and July 26 that CIBC World Markets analyst Nik Priebe rated CI Financial "neutral." It was then worth $12.59 and $16.38.
