SMART SWITCH DCA, A NEW SERVICE FROM CI GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT, PROVIDES A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO INVESTING IN UNCERTAIN MARKETS

CI Financial Corp.'s CI Global Asset Management has released Smart Switch DCA, a new service that simplifies investing by providing automated dollar cost averaging into CI GAM funds.

Dollar cost averaging is simply the strategy of investing a fixed amount at regular intervals. Under Smart Switch DCA, an investor's money is switched, on a weekly basis, from CI High Interest Savings Fund to a target fund or funds of the investor's choosing. More than 155 CI GAM mutual funds are eligible to be selected as target funds.

"Over the past 18 months, investors have boosted their holdings in cash products such as CI High Interest Savings Fund, which has provided capital preservation and income in an unstable environment," said Jennifer Sinopoli, executive vice-president and head of distribution for CI GAM.

Ms. Sinopoli added: "For investors who are ready to start deploying cash into other mandates, but are concerned about the direction of the markets, Smart Switch DCA provides a prudent and systematic approach. Dollar cost averaging maintains discipline in volatile conditions. Additionally, the strategy may result in investors averaging down the cost of their investment over time."

Smart Switch DCA offers a convenient, streamlined process to arrange transfers from CI High Interest Savings Fund to other funds by using unique fund codes. Switches are made weekly for a period of one year. Investors can set up the Smart Switch DCA service through their financial adviser, and it can be easily modified or ended at any time.
