The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Jan. 27, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Allison Carson is keeping her "hold" recommendation for Centerra Gold intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Ms. Carson gave her share target an $8 boost to $29. Analysts on average target the shares at $25.62. Ms. Carson tweaked her share target in response to last week's release of a preliminary economic assessment for Centerra's Kemess project in the Toodoggone district in the northern Interior of British Columbia. Ms. Carson says in a note: "The PEA beat our expectations mainly due to slightly higher production and lower operating, initial and expansion capital costs. With this update, our NAVPS increased 11 per cent to $57.47 (from $51.68). We have also tweaked our 4Q25 estimates ahead of reporting and increased our NAV multiple to 0.6 times from 0.5 times as Kemess advances; this results in our target increasing." The Globe reported on Feb. 25 that Ms. Carson had reaffirmed her "hold" call for Centerra. The shares could then be had for $8.73. The Globe reported on Oct. 31 that CIBC's Luke Bertozzi was keeping his "outperformer" call for Centerra intact. It was then worth $16.43.
