CAMBRIDGE, ON, Sept. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - exactEarth today announced that it
has been awarded a C$19.2 million contract by the Government of Canada
to provide extensive advanced Satellite AIS data services. This
contract covers a period of 18 months and supersedes and significantly
augments the existing AIS data services contract that had been in place
since 2012 with the Canadian Space Agency and Department of National
Defence. The superseded amount is C$1.8 million, making the net new
order booking C$17.4M.
Under the new contract the full exactAIS® data service is made
available to all Canadian government departments and is expected to be
used for a wide range of applications including but not limited to
wide-area maritime surveillance and security, customs and border
protection, Arctic vessel traffic monitoring, fisheries and environment
monitoring as well as Search and Rescue.
