The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, June 30, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Andrew Wong has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Cameco. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Wong gave his share target a $15 boost to $175. Analysts on average target the shares at $173.39. Mr. Wong says in a note: "[Cameco notes that] major tech companies are interested in securing long- term uranium supply and have multiple term sheets exploring potential purchases. On uranium S&D outlook, Cameco sees continued demand growth with potential for a boost in coming years as new reactor projects look to secure initial reactor loads while new supply needed to address a looming deficit faces execution risks. We raise our uranium price forecasts by 10 per cent, with our long-term price rising to $110/lb, from $100/lb. ... Overall, we continue to see Cameco as best-positioned to benefit from strong nuclear growth momentum and a constructive uranium price outlook." As well, Mr. Wong is "encouraged" by recent U.S. and Canadian government policy initiatives that he sees as "supportive for deployment of the Westinghouse AP1000 large nuclear reactor design."
