Cascade begins airborne geophysics survey at Fire Mtn

2026-04-23 18:29 ET - News Release

Mr. Jeffrey Ackert reports

CASCADE COPPER INITIATES AN AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICS SURVEY AT THE FIRE MOUNTAIN COPPER-GOLD PORPHYRY PROJECT EM AND MAGNETICS WILL COVER OVER 200 LINE-KILOMETRES.

Cascade Copper Corp. has mobilized a crew from Precision GeoSurveys to fly a helicopter-borne electromagnetic and magnetic survey at its Fire Mountain copper-gold porphyry project in southwestern British Columbia. The survey will cover approximately 44 square kilometres in area with 222 line kilometres of flying. Flight lines will be approximately 200 metres apart with the aircraft's coil situated at 40 metres above the ground.

Shannon Baird, Cascade Copper's vice-president of exploration, remarks: "Although we did have some magnetics data at Fire Mountain, we felt that the addition of EM data would be absolutely crucial for modelling and assessing the porphyry-skarn system at Fire Mountain. Once the survey is completed and the data processed and verified, we will model the apparent resistivity and conductivity in 3-D. This will give us some excellent areas to follow up with surface sampling and future drilling."

Fire Mountain project location and prospectivity

The Fire Mountain copper-gold porphyry project is a large, 56.85-square-kilometre, potential "flagship" project with significant surface assay results, intensive veining and impressive alteration, all highly indicative of a large porphyry-style hydrothermal system and related skarns. The project is located approximately 13 kilometres south of the Corporation's Rogers Creek project within the Cascade magmatic arc.

The Inferno zone and the Molycop zone are situated within volcanic and sedimentary units on the margin of the Rogers Creek pluton. Both areas have returned significant copper, gold, silver and molybdenum values in surface sampling, which is believed to be a result of a porphyry system near to surface. It is often the case where porphyry systems emerge along pluton boundaries or at structural intersections within the pluton itself.

The Money Spinner and Lilabet zones are within the prolific Fire Lake Group island arc sequence rocks, contain high-grade gold and silver values, and sit adjacent to the porphyry-style mineralization. The Money Spinner consists of a more-than-one-metre-wide banded quartz fissure vein with historical assays up to 26.25 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and has been traced for at least 300 metres before heading under cover. The Lilabet zone comprises an over-100-metre-wide chlorite-sulphide matrix breccia zone assaying 1.29 per cent copper (Cu) and 38.4 g/t silver (Ag), with chip sampling across its 100-metre exposed surface.

The expectant outcome of this survey is to distinguish new or validate existing targets, especially within areas containing nil or minimal historic work but promising magnetics signatures such as the "unexplored high-mag extensions both northwest and southeast of the Inferno zone." Besides the known porphyry association on the project, the fact that this particular package of rocks throughout the region is known to host skarn and VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) occurrences is encouraging and expands the potential for discovery with this type of survey.

Precision's 1TEM system

1TEM is a fully automated time domain electromagnetic (TDEM) system operated from a helicopter platform, which provides data at a reasonable cost with a high level of safety. Its simple lightweight design and aerodynamics in horizontal, climbing and descending flight regimes make it well suited to operations in mountainous terrain like Fire Mountain. This allows it to collect better data, especially in steep terrain, through longer survey endurance and close terrain draping. 1TEM is a third-generation TDEM system evolved from extensive R&D (research and development) work by Newmont Corp. in Australia.

Next steps at Fire Mountain

Cascade Copper will process and 3-D model the 1TEM and magnetic data into the project database and prioritize further exploration from this. Previous exploration work has indicated excellent copper, gold and silver values on surface from well over 200 historical and modern grab and soil samples. Of particular note is the Inferno zone, where sampling highlights include up to 4.10 per cent Cu, 14.96 g/t Au and 76.5 g/t Ag (see news release dated Dec. 14, 2023).

The technical information in this news release was prepared and approved by Shannon Baird, PGeo, a qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Baird is vice-president of exploration of Cascade Copper, and is registered as a professional geoscientist with the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, as well as the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Management cautions that all analysis values represented are grab or chip samples are historical and selective in nature and not representative of the project in its entirety or indicative of any grade over all. These historical results are meant to point out zones of interest and potential follow-up in the future for in-field verification.

About Cascade Copper Corp.

Cascade Copper is an exploration-stage natural resource company engaged in the evaluation, acquisition and exploration of copper-based mineral resource properties. Cascade is focused on copper and gold, porphyry and mesothermal gold deposits in British Columbia, and VMS and BIF copper, gold and silver style deposits in Ontario. Cascade's priority is to conduct exploration using modern technology that includes 3-D inversion modelling of geophysics, lidar (light detection and ranging) elevation models, and AI-enhanced (artificial intelligence) predictive modelling from all historic and modern data inputs. Drilling is planned on several of its copper-gold targets this year. Cascade has five projects, including the Copper Plateau copper-moly project, the Centrefire copper-gold project, the Rogers Creek copper-gold project, the Fire Mountain copper-gold project and the Bendor gold-tungsten project.
