Mr. Dev Rishy-Maharaj reports
BRONCO RESOURCES SAMPLES 51.6 G/T GOLD AND 228 G/T SILVER IN BLUE QUARTZ 280 METERS EAST OF KODIAK ZONE
Bronco Resources Corp. has released
the results from additional rock sampling
at the
Placer Mountain gold project, located in the Similkameen mining district, near Princeton, B.C.
The program returned
51.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) and 228 g/t silver
(Ag) from
angular
blue quartz
containing minor sulphides approximately
280 metres east of the Kodiak zone discovery outcrop location.
The
high-grade blue quartz
occurs within the
eastward projection
of the Kodiak mineralized system
coincident with a deep magnetic low,
providing a
compelling high-priority target for future drilling.
Rock sampling highlights:
- 51.6 g/t Au and 228.0 g/t Ag at Kodiak zone east extension in blue quartz;
- 2.9 g/t Au and 15.7 g/t Ag, 350 metres east of Kodiak zone showing.
The blue quartz represents a newly recognized style of high-grade mineralization at Placer Mountain. Unlike previously recognized samples grading greater than 20 g/t Au, which have generally been associated with elevated iron content, this quartz vein contains very low iron and lacks the sulphide-rich character observed in other high-grade mineralization.
Dev Rishy-Maharaj, chief executive officer of Bronco Resources, commented:
"The grade is obviously significant, but what makes this sample particularly interesting to us is how different it is from the other high-grade mineralization we sampled at Placer Mountain. Other samples grading above 20 g/t Au generally are associated with high iron percentages and a much more abundant sulphide component.
"This new quartz vein is a different beast. It carries 50-plus grams per ton gold and very little iron or visible sulfide mineralization. That gives us an important piece of info as we continue to understand the different phases of gold mineralization, especially how they may be expressed in newly completed geophysical imagery. This detailed set of imagery will guide the next phase of drilling at the project."
The company continues to evaluate the relationship between the newly recognized blue quartz mineralization and the previously identified magnetic and non-magnetic phases at the Kodiak zone.
Assay laboratory procedure
All analytical work was completed by MSA Labs, an independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory. Prospecting rock samples were analyzed for gold using the CPA-Au1 photon assay method together with FAS-111 fire assay and IMS-230 multielement geochemistry. Soil samples were analyzed for gold by FAS-111 fire assay with AAS (atomic absorption spectroscopy) finish together with IMS-131 multielement geochemistry. The laboratory employs rigorous internal quality assurance and quality control procedures, including certified reference materials, blanks and duplicate analyses at prescribed frequencies to monitor analytical accuracy and precision. Individual analytical results are retained in the company's assay database.
Qualified person
R. Tim Henneberry, PGeo, a technical adviser to the company and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information contained in this news release.
