BQE WATER AND HUDBAY TO IMPLEMENT THE FIRST SART PLANT IN CANADA

BQE Water Inc. has entered into a contract with Hudbay Minerals Inc. to progress the engineering design of a SART (sulphidization, acidification, recycling and thickening) plant, which will be integrated into their mill in Snow Lake, Man., to the issued-for-construction (IFC) phase of the project.

The decision to proceed with SART construction followed approximately six months of bench-scale testing, Metsim modelling and preliminary engineering completed by BQE Water, and the SART process due diligence visit of plants operated under BQE technical supervision by Hudbay's technical team.

With the detailed engineering design under way, BQE Water and Hudbay are discussing plans for site construction, commissioning and continuing technical SART operations support.
