NORTHSTAR GAMING ACKNOWLEDGES AGCO ORDER OF MONETARY PENALTY

Northstar Gaming Holdings Inc. has acknowledged receipt of an order of monetary penalty from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario in respect of its licensed subsidiary, Northstar Gaming (Ontario) Inc. Northstar has agreed to settle the matter for $80,000.

The order relates to a single player account during the period of March, 2024, to June, 2025. During such period, the AGCO found that Northstar did not meet the enhanced due diligence requirements of the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming applicable to a player whose recorded occupation and deposit activity required escalated monitoring. Northstar does not dispute the AGCO's finding and has co-operated fully with the AGCO throughout the investigation.

Since the period covered by the order, Northstar has made substantial investments in its AML and compliance program, including the appointment of a new vice-president of compliance and additional compliance staff, the expansion of its compliance committee with experienced industry members, the completion of an independent external compliance effectiveness review, material enhancements to its risk scoring and player classification systems, and the formalization of escalation procedures.

"The conduct at issue is confined to a specific period that is now behind us. We have invested significantly in our compliance program since then, and we are committed to meeting the highest standards expected of us as a licensed Internet gaming operator in Ontario."

Northstar is committed to its continuing co-operative relationship with the AGCO and to full compliance with its obligations under the standards.
