The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Aug. 22, edition that CIBC World Markets analyst Stephanie Price has reiterated her "neutral" recommendation for BCE. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Ms. Price boosted her share target by a loonie to $36. Analysts on average target the shares at $34.93. Ms. Price says in a note: "We expect Ziply to grow at a faster rate than BCE's base business and that BCE will prioritize investment toward the Ziply rollout accordingly. We estimate Ziply could grow from 4 per cent of BCE's pro-forma 2025 consolidated EBITDA to 10 per cent by 2030, dependant on the pace of the fibre build. Given the increasingly competitive U.S. fibre market, we expect BCE could look to acquire additional regional fibre players. We remain on the sidelines given the competitive U.S. wireline environment and uncertainty regarding build pacing and costs. We see upside if BCE is able to execute on its fibre build-out ahead of schedule and accelerate higher penetration levels in its footprint over time."
