The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Aug. 4, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil is sticking with his "hold" call for BCE. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil gave his share target a $2 trim to $60. Analysts on average target the shares at $63. Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "BCE will need a catch-up in [the second half] to meet its annual objectives, but we believe the company should nonetheless reach its guidance. Telcos generate the bulk of their growth in [the second half], working capital (a significant drag in the quarter) tends to revert to the mean and the company is now lapping several year-over-year cost headwinds." The Globe reported on June 1 and June 29 that Bank of Nova Scotia analyst Maher Yaghi had an unchanged "sector perform" ranking on BCE, which was then worth $61.08 and $59.49. The Globe reported on July 21 that Canaccord Genuity analyst Aravinda Galappatthige had reaffirmed his "hold" call for BCE. The shares could then be had for $58.73.
