The Globe and Mail reports in its Saturday, May 6, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Jerome Dubreuil is sticking with his "hold" ranking for BCE. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dubreuil, however, shaved his share target by a loonie to $65. Analysts on average target the shares at $65.87. Mr. Dubreuil says in a note: "BCE now has a slightly more complicated path to reaching its annual guidance, but we nonetheless expect the company to meet its initial objectives. Telcos generate the bulk of their growth in 2H, working capital (a significant drag in the quarter) tends to revert to the mean and the company is now lapping several year-over-year cost headwinds." The Globe reported on Jan. 4 that BMO Nesbitt Burns analyst Tim Casey continued to rate BCE "outperform." The shares could then be had for $60.23. The Globe reported on Feb. 4 that Canaccord Genuity analyst Aravinda Galappatthige had reaffirmed his "hold" recommendation for BCE when it could be had for $61.77. The Globe reported on April 11 that Scotia Capital analyst Maher Yaghi had cut BCE to "sector perform" from "sector outperform." The shares could then be had for $62.88.
