The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Benoit Poirier continues to rate SNC-Lavalin Group (now AtkinsRealis) "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Poirier's share target soared $12 to $65. Analysts on average target the shares at $57.33. Following "strong" fourth quarter 2023 financial results and "impressive" guidance for the current fiscal year, Mr. Poirier believes AtkinsRealis is "entering 2024 with flying colours." He says in a note: "We see several catalysts ahead for this turnaround story that are not accessible to its peers in the engineering space -- incremental investors, multiple rerating, LSTK completion, divestiture of Linxon, balance sheet deleveraging following the Highway 407 sale and elevated public work exposure vs peers, as well as nuclear expertise. AtkinsRealis remains our preferred E&C name. ... We see significant potential for value creation if AtkinsRealis can successfully demonstrate the FCF generation potential of its engineering services business." The Globe reported on Dec. 15 that Mr. Poirier continued to rate AtkinsRealis "buy," with a $53 share target. The shares could then be had for $41.99.
